‘The most important thing’ in the new Blyth album is ‘Blyth is a beacon of hope’: Blytts creator
Blythe has spoken out for the first time in a decade about her upcoming album The Most Important Thing.
“Blythe is a fucking beacon of light,” she told The Irish Sun.
Blyt the singer and songwriter has been under intense pressure from her label, BMG Music, and her label boss to make a major comeback in 2016 following the release of her fifth album and the death of her father, the singer said.
She has since been working on an album of her own with producer and producer-turned-songwriter David Byrne.
It’s a lot of work and it’s a difficult album to make, but it’s the one that has the most to do with my life and the ones that I want to share with you.
When the album was released in February, the label boss, Martin Mullaney, told Rolling Stone that it would not be a return to the singer-songwriters territory of past releases.
He said it would be a “great return to what we used to do.”
Bly said she felt pressure to make the record in the wake of her dad’s death, but said she was not worried about it.
“There’s nothing wrong with being emotional, it’s just that people are going to be listening to it, they’re going to have their opinions and they’re just going to make their own judgment,” she said.
“It’s not a matter of me making it, I’m just not going to sit down and write a song about it and make it my own.”
It’s going to mean a lot to people, I’ve been saying this for years, and it has a real impact on me.
“The album is scheduled to be released in the coming months and will be released on February 13.
