How to create a holographic image of yourself in your own head
What happens when you take your smartphone with you and take photos?
That’s the question that is being posed by an Indiana University research team that has developed a way to use a smartphone to create holographic images of your face.
The research team, led by postdoctoral scholar Robert Lipsitz, developed a new way of creating holograms using only the phone’s camera sensor.
Their paper, published in the journal Optics Express, is titled “Holographic imaging using a mobile phone.”
Lipsitz says that he and his team had been working on a new method for generating holograms of faces.
He and his colleagues wanted to create an image of the person wearing a virtual mask, so they developed a process to combine different elements of the face with an image captured by the phone.
For the new technique, Lipsets and his research team used a mobile camera and an optical system to capture images of the mask worn by a face of the wearer.
In some of the images, the image is very low resolution, so the mask itself is blurry.
But in others, the mask is blurry enough that it looks like the mask actually exists.
Lipsets says that the mask was created using the camera’s optical sensor.
But he says the image of a face can be created using just a cellphone camera.
The mask is created using a computer, and the computer is the one that captures the image.
“It’s like a miniature digital camera that captures an image,” he says.
Lippedets and others at the IU School of Optics and Photonics say that the new process works because the phone is only capturing images of a person wearing the mask.
So when the phone camera is on, it doesn’t see the face of an individual wearing the masks, but the face that the smartphone is capturing.
The new technique is also much more precise than existing techniques.
The phone’s cameras capture only the area of the nose, mouth and eyes of the subject.
This allows for a much finer control over the image than the previous techniques.
In order to create the mask, the team first used a computer to create images of face features such as eyebrows, eyes and eyelashes.
The computer then used a software program to apply the mask image to the phone image, creating the illusion that the face is being captured.
Then, the computer used a projector to create three images of each person wearing an artificial mask.
The three images were then combined, creating a hologram of the people wearing the face mask.
It was as if the three images had been overlaid on top of each other.
The researchers say that this new method is much more accurate than previous techniques that only capture the face.
“It’s much more detailed than what’s been done previously,” Lipsetz says.
“I think it’s the most accurate technique we’ve ever come up with, and we think it has a lot of potential.”
The new method may be useful for those who are afraid of the spectacles worn by their friends, and who don’t want to look like a clown, Linsets says.
But it could also be useful in those who have a lot more facial expressions than a face.
“In many of these cases, the face can look more or less human, but in others it might look more like an alien,” he said.
“We’re just getting to the surface of how we can do it, but I think it may be possible to use this technique to make a face mask that is actually much more human than a mask of a clown.”
